Two of the most important priorities for the City of McHenry include attracting new retailers to meet the needs of the residents of the community, and filling vacant or underutilized properties and storefronts. To assist us in meeting both of these goals, McHenry has partnered with The Retail Coach, an organization with more than 20 years of proven national experience linking retailers and communities.

The Retail Coach reviewed the existing retail market in McHenry and the surrounding area and primary and secondary retail trade areas were identified. Cell phone analysis technology reports are also available for our major retail areas identifying how consumers travel to McHenry for retail goods and services.

The City of McHenry Economic Development Staff is prepared to identify site opportunities for new development and re-development with the help of these opportunity reports.
